I have had the desire to write since I was old enough to hold a crayon and had finished my first novel, with a 18,000 word count, when I was fourteen. In 2012, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Film Production from Bowling Green State University in Ohio as a way of learning filmmaking as an alternate form of storytelling. My final project, a full-length original screenplay, was given perfect marks by both professors and a producer.
Thus far, I have not pursued publication since I have been content with practicing and developing. I believe that writing is as much a discipline as it is an art and there are always way to learn and improve. I love to learn and I benefit both from positive feedback and critique. A prolific and eager creator, I am excited to find an agent who will work with me to make my novels the best they can be and reach the most number of people.
No stranger to hard work, I have specialized in independent productions where creative problem-solving and self-discipline are key. I have spent many years working with my talented team of siblings under the company Markley Bros. Entertainment to produce professional quality drama-comedies, both in audio and short video formats. Several of my original works have made it to the screen in the form of short films; including two international contest winners and an original piece that was screened on PBS.
I consider my strength to be the wide variety of writing styles with which I am comfortable, allowing me to adapt to the needs of the project. I take criticism well and grow through disappointment.
