Throughout all of my exposure to film production, I have always been drawn to the magic of editing. In 2012, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Film Production from Bowling Green State University in Ohio as a way of pursuing my love of film and video.
No stranger to hard work, I have specialized in independent films where creative problem-solving and self-discipline are key. I have spent many years working with my talented team of siblings under the company Markley Bros. Entertainment to produce professional quality drama-comedies, both in audio and short video formats. I co-edited our audio podcast, The Malex Minute, which ran weekly for five years without a break.
In 2007, I uploaded my first video, a fan edit, to Youtube where it quickly garnered almost 15,000 views. (It was removed not long after for copyright claims.) Since then, YouTube has remained my home and outlet for much of my creative video work. My most viewed video has over 100K views and creators such as Rhett and Link, Simon Lane of the Yogscast, and JackSepticEye have all shared content that I have edited with their followers on social media.
I have had an unusual amount of independent experience in filmmaking with more than ten fully original productions under my belt. These productions include a variety of filmmaking techniques such as live action, stop-motion animation, computer based animation, and puppetry. Two of my shorts have won second place in international contests and another of my original pieces was screened on PBS.
I consider my strengths to be the speed at which I learn and my readiness to adapt to the needs of the project at hand. While I have the willingness and ability to use my own creative judgement, I respect authority and am happiest when others are happy.
